How ultrasonic pet trainer work?

I have a big German shepherd barking next door to my boxer / beagle mix every time he goes a bathroom. Most of the time my dog does not do business because she is afraid that the dog next door. I thought about buying one of those "dogs Dazer" trainers PET ultrasound use in dogs bark when threatened, but I worry that going to affect my dog. They are great for making a dog out of a behavior, as to stop barking. We use a kennel at the vet clinic where I work. They do, however, affect every dog that is about it – that any dog can hear the sound. Basically, it's just a distraction. Some dogs do not do anything when you press the button, just ignore it. Others act afraid. I try to use it only when there are several dogs that will not stop barking, or if only one dog in the kennel and will not stop barking. I try to avoid using that if there is a dog in the kennel that is afraid of her. Every dog reacts differently. There's really no way to know how your dog or another dog will act until you try. I would look priced one in e-bay or something instead of spending money on a new brand to find your dog is afraid of him or the other dog is not affected by it. And they can be really annoying, you have to weigh how annoying the thing itself is against it annoying that the dogs are. It's very, very sharp and terrible nerves grids.
