How do I allow remote access to users to read files but not print, copy or modify them?

we are developing a lot of training material and we want our trainers based distance to have access to videos, presentations, etc. that will not want to do is copy, print or modify the training materials. Is there a way to give read only access?

If your server is a Unix-based server, such as Linux or Unix, you can change the permissions for the files. There are many types of Linux and UNIX. There are three types of permissions for each file. One for the owner of the file, one for people in one group and another for others. I would say it would be better to put the trainers in a group or several groups for trainers. You can then set permissions separately for instructors to other users such as students. So basically, the permissions are such: rwx rwx rwx, where r is the read permission, w is the permit writing, and X is the execute permission. It uses a command called chmod meaning that switching mode and set the permissions for all of the previous three. The arguments chmod is for a three-number refers to each of the sets of permissions. So if you want to have a file read, write, execute permissions for the owner, only read permission for the group and no permissions for others, you would do something like this. chmod 720 The issues Arguments are a binary number representing the permissions you want. 0 – not like all the permissions. 1 – execute permission only. 2 – Read permissions only. 3 – Read and Execute permissions only. This is the 1 and 2 above. 4 – Write permissions only. 5 – Write and Execute permissions only. This is 1 plus 4 above. 6 – Read and Execute permissions only. This is the 2 plus 4 above. 7 – Read, write and execute the file. All licenses. This is the 1 plus 2 plus 4 of the above. So use one of these numbers for each group.
