What is the best type of filter for a planted aquarium?
Thinking of starting a small planted tank and I wondered what would a good filter. Do not want to cause no internal filter "must be too much space, underground, because I know it's wrong, I do not mind hanging up in the back, but create a movement too? I think an external filter cartridge would be ideal but not a big tank and cost a bit. What is the best filter to use?
Hello I a planted aquarium, in fact 2 and the filter cartridge use bescuase act as an environment where beneficial bacteria can grow in works very well and keeps water crystal clear. I recommend a class or Eheim Fluval 101 or 202 or if you really want the best picture flite on earth, but I think it would be a loss for an aquarium is a samllish Hagen Fluval FX5. The Ehime works very well and if you will not disappointed. One thing I will try my planted aquarium is a fluidized bed filter. Is of sand on the inside that attracts and serves as the best way possible to grow beneficial bacteria, while at the same time destroys the waste within the filter itself if it does not really clean, because the small grains affected residues of the other. I recommend this as the best for you if planted aquarium optoins apparently works very well. But I think we have to buy a Classic Eheim then add the fluidized bed filter in the filter. You will have a perfect plant for totallly SEUP filter life.
