Is it important to add salt to a tank of cichlids?
I have had cichlids for a long time but have never used salt in my tank. My raising fish and seem to be just a big nut I wondered if the salt increases your lifetime or intensifying their colors? I recently purchased Dainichi cichlid food and really brings color in my fish. I just wanted to know if salt can increase the color too, why? PS: I have my tank is between 220 and 240 (yes that's all it is very important lol) of gallons the amount of salt you use and what would the approximate cost per month?
Awesome tank! I want mail or e-mail photos! Salt is ideal for getting rid of ICH or dipping to remove the parasites, but in a tank has not been established that haveing problems, I would not worry about it. It will not help the color, allowing parasites, mainly by osmosis. If it is not broke do not fix it.
